Seeing people opt to spend time looking at a screen, engaged with something other than their immediate environment always makes me feel uneasy. When it is a parent, choosing to tap and swipe over interacting with their child, the scene fills me with dread for the future. I suppose I could say I'm feeling my age when I say things like the wonderful technology we have today isn't always so wonderful, but there are plenty of people my age who do not share my belief.
